GrapheneOS fixed Android VPN leaks

GrapheneOS is currently the only Android OS that has fixed these leaks.

Important to note that there is another VPN leak regarding DNS being sent outside the VPN tunnel that has not been fully fixed yet in GrapheneOS.

A partial fix has been shipped for a while which is less strict than the full fix that they want to implement. The reason the full fix has not been implemented yet is because it is incompatible with ProtonVPN.

The GrapheneOS team has been investigating this incompatibility for a while and are aiming to resolve the issue from their side to allow ProtonVPN to function when the stricter fix is implemented.

Still, great work by the GrapheneOS developers for fixing one of the outstanding issues regarding the VPN leaks.

Genius move they now will not help Android AOSP until Google treat them as a trusted OS https://xcancel.com/GrapheneOS/status/1841266928041464135#m

If Google wanted the code they can have it, it is open source. Anyway I think it’s justified because Google isn’t really doing GrapheneOS any favours and making their lives harder through Play Integrity.

Sure, but the value is in GOS really detailing the issues, writing a report. Google engineers ofc could do this, so basically GOS is saying no more free lunch for Google

Im sure Google engineers are already aware of the VPN leaks and have been for a while. It was pretty publicised when IVPN and Mullvad wrote blog posts about it. If they had it as a priority they would have done something sooner.
