Google shoehorned Rust into Pixel 10 modem to make legacy code safer

  • Google is integrating the Rust programming language into the Pixel 10’s modem firmware to mitigate memory-safety vulnerabilities such as buffer overflows.

After all the connectivity problems they have had using the Samsung exynos modem, Google really needs to drop the exynos modem and go back using Qualcomm Modems.

The rumor is that the new Google Pixel 11 will start using MediaTek modems, if so, this may be good news…
