I really like invidious youtube frontend, however as almost every frontend, it lacks of recommendation mechanism because of privacy reasons. Nevertheless, I happen to find such a project as GitHub - FlowNeuro/Flow-Desktop: A modern, feature-rich YouTube and YouTube Music client with local recommendation for Desktop built with Rust and Tauri · GitHub . It is open source and is distributed under GPL license. In addition to all those features, such as more private way to consume content from youtube, it also states the following “FlowNeuro is Flow’s native local recommendation engine. It learns from watches, skips, likes, dislikes, searches, topic preferences, and creator affinity, and ranks content on your device without sending a recommendation profile to a Flow server.” which sounds quite attractive, at least to me, who want both some form of recommendation algorithm but also don’t want to give up privacy accompanied by such a decision. Failed to find any mentions of this product in PG, thus would like to see any recommendations regarding this project.
Interesting, I haven’t heard of it. You might also consider FreeTube as it can show recommendations, though I believe those are just recommendations that come from YouTube rather than its own local recommendation engine
