There was a large portion of content on trichan that was not legal period. I work closely with US based watchdog groups and trichan was reported countless times to LEA. I can assure you that there are more websites on the clearweb that have clearly illegal content that still exist and it is a battle to try and get them taken down.

There is no safe outlet. As, doing so just contributes to the issue. Which is why it is taken down.

Therapy is the only solution that does not contribute nor normalize the condition. But many do not seek because of fear of consequences. Which there would be no consequences, unless they have done something wrong.

But the moment that person decides to start feeding that desire there definitely will be consequences.

So, in short the only solution is therapy. If they are actually willing to seek help.

So, back to the censorship. Yes, that is an issue with what ExpressVPN is doing. This could cause issues as in mass censorship of websites that shouldn’t be censored like Wikipedia, Transgender Information or support sites etc. But the agrument you are presenting is not the right one and really has me concerned about what is motivating, you on this topic.

This will indeed deter a decent number young adults from sexting. I remember growing up in an era where my school classmates bragged about their 20-something year old “boyfriends” on MySpace/kik/whatever. And the “boyfriends” would typically turn out to live hundreds of miles away, in their mothers’ basement, and only talk about video games , and maybe a few weeks after getting attention, the girl would get bored. To be honest, I’ve been there when I was a teen (and no, i am not “traumatized” by it);

These are what we call “opportunistic”, “regressive” offenders. The kind of people who do this aren’t generally very tech savvy or intelligent, but at the same time aren’t particularly harmful either.

What is not harmful to you? So, it was not traumatizing to you. So, it is ok? As, that is clearly grooming and many of things you said there have been done to many girls and boys and they have not been lucky as they have either gone missing by meeting up with said person, stalked and or kidnapped etc. Many cases began with just messaging.

This has been said 1,000,000 times before, but the most effective solution against child sex abuse is good parenting & awareness, friendships, and maintaining a positive social and romantic environment for teenagers.

As, I understand what expressvpn is doing could cause censorship issues. But please stick to the facts and stop watering down the issue of child exploitation. No. This has proven to be false in many studies. Researchers have not found actual evidence that CP makes people more likely to commit contact offenses. In fact, the availability of child pornography has shown to somewhat decrease the rate of illegal sexual relations with minors:

In summary, mounds of evidence shows that viewing child porn does not inherently cause harm, nor does it “turn people into pedophiles”, or is an indicator someone will abuse children. Rather, its usually just used the way regular porn is, and in the case of the minority that of it that contains young children, it serves as an outlet for pre-existing desires that are best not to be tried in real life. Pedophiles often use anime porn (lolicon/shotacon) as a safe outlet, but as even this is becoming more criminalized due to the moral panic, some people are getting pushed into watching real CP. In the aftermath of crackdowns on Tor porn communities, some pedophiles have started recommending seeking nonsexual relationships with real children because CP/lolicon/AI CP is more dangerous.

The pedophilia media panic deeply misrepresents what actually causes children to be abused or harmed. If you’re a parent - the chances of your child being blackmailed or kidnapped are thankfully exceedingly rare, but the chances of your child getting auto-reported by AI for consensual sexting with another teen and labeled a predator for life are much higher. Realistically, the child porn crusade is a greater threat to children than the people it prosecutes.

Fundamentally, child porn is information, and any attempts to mass-prosecute people based on sharing information will necessitate that everyone will loose their right to privacy. This is an uncomfortable fact that has to be faced. If the population was more well-informed they would understand that anti-privacy laws do not actually help children. If the crusade of child porn were to be stopped, then the anti-privacy would loose its main justification.

I could make an easy case here that they should block PrivacyGuides because they have no age verification and they promote technologies (VPN) that are helping out children access pornography without the necessary age verification which is illegal in the UK and they also have links to VPN services that are not ExpressVPN, that means those VPN are not blocking child porn, therefore PrivacyGuides should be blocked too. I think most of the general population who know nothing about PG will agree with this.
