The authority also underlines that actions like the dismantling of Ghost, and previously Sky ECC, EncroChat, and Exlu, result in fragmentations in the encrypted communications landscape, which makes its investigations and crime tracking more challenging.

The app’s creator regularly pushed out software updates but, in 2022, Australian police were able to hijack those updates to access encrypted content.

Yet another example of why criminals should do themselves a huge favor and not use fringe, proprietary, criminal-only messaging services.

Criminals will never learn though, so they’ll keep getting what they deserve :slight_smile:
