I got GrapheneOS on my Pixel phone and wanted to get an eSim on it. I got an account with silent.link and started the process away from my house, but the OS asked for a Wifi connection and I stopped it for now.
Why does the OS needs Wifi at this moment?
Can I use the public Wifi of a shopping center or fast food place for that or would this be to insecure?
Hi,
yes that make sense. I hoped it can download the info via ethernet and than later on can establish the connection to the esim carrier.
Do you think the public wifi might be a security issue for that?
Hi,
thanks for the info. Not using it at home. Only Ethernet connections.
Do you think the public wifi might be a security issue for that esim installation process?
