Hello. I am by IVPN Creating a VM within a hidden veracrypt partition I was interested in it after seeing how to install a virtual machine inside a hidden volume in veracrypt and hide the virtual machine. If I install and use Whonix in a hidden volume in this way, how private will I be and how private will I be from anyone who wants access to my data?
I don’t believe there is any tangible metric against which one can evaluate and give you a conclusive answer for what you’re asking. This is no established spectrum with privacy or security on which to place a numerical value or any value with any units to answer your question in a tangible manner.
It’s like asking, how safe am I when my apartment door is locked? Safe but not as safe as a bunker - not to mention it also depends on or from what you’re trying to keep yourself safe. Can you put a numerical value on this? No. Same logic applies to your question.
Perhaps ask your question differently after thinking about what you’re trying to accomplish and get an answer about to do what you want to do. You have not provided any real details for the same.
That setup can add a good layer of plausible deniability, but it’s not foolproof. Whonix inside a hidden VeraCrypt volume can protect against casual or physical inspection, but once the system is running, things like network leaks, host OS compromise, or metadata exposure can still reduce privacy. It’s solid for personal use, but don’t rely on it for high-threat situations.
