Dedicated IP Provider for Gaming (VPN)

Hello,

I would like to use a dedicated IP address for gaming. The reason for this is that some players have malicious intentions and I want to protect myself from this. The shared VPN IP’s are already partially blocked for some games. Can you tell me which VPN provider offers the best dedicated IP? Unfortunately, ProtonVPN, Mullvad and ivpn do not support this function. :frowning: I also don’t want to use my own VPS. I am looking for the most trustworthy providers.

Thank you.

There is no way another player could realistically obtain your IP adress in a modern online game.

All VPNs will increase latency, which could be a problem.

I also see little reason for concealing your IP address in the context you described. Nonetheless, addressing your inquiry, Windscribe [1] does provide shared static IP servers. These may work for your scenario. However, Windscribe is currently not recommended by Privacy Guides [2].

Cloudflare Warp could also be an option as cloudflare IPs are rarely banned, and they have a lot of servers. Not sure how private/secure it is though.

You have to test it yourself with networking tools. What you’re looking for is a nearest, networking wise, dedicated server. Use the weakest Wireguard encryption and run a client on a dedicated x86 router with AES accelerator.

PlayStation parties use p2p for voice chats, so do many games. I haven’t seen a notable game leaks, but why shouldn’t we take the same precautions with games? IP is PII.

Well, if you are that worried about others attacking you, just don’t use the voice chats.

Because it will degrade your experience. And the likelihood of someone with the technical skills to get your IP is very low.

Not really. For the ISP sure, but otherwise an IP doesn’t correlate to an identity by itself. That is for individuals without acess to data brokers ofc.

Please don’t use a VPN for latency sensitive games, it’s absolutely insane to do so.

Lot of nonsense in this thread.

  • Tons of games will leak your IP to other users.
  • You should use a VPN for games.
  • I can consistently topfrag in CS2 with a double-hop VPN. Just pick a path that aligns up with your location to the game server location.
    • Some VPNs however don’t allow same country for entry and exit for stupid reasons. I encourage you to complain to them.

Is this a joke? Wireguard only has one cipher and it ain’t AES.

So PII it is.

A Typo. I meant to say use proxy.

I agree with this especially time sensitive games like first person shooters.

OP question was about gamers being his adversary

What kind of bots are you playing against?

Windscribe uses static ips that are shared among users who subscribe to that location

You are right. My mistake, I corrected my comment accordingly.

I think cloudflare warp is the best solution here.

My ping is 12ms without and 18ms with.
Seriously this is just a skill issue or a VPN choice issue.

This is not a solution, as games have had remote image loading issues and some IP grabber websites are behind Cloudflare which afaik tells them your real IP even behind Warp.

None of the recommended VPNs will only add 6 ms of latency, especially when using multi-hop.

I’m not sure if warp leaks the real IP address.

Anyway another solution is hosting wireguard in a vps located in the closest location to you.
