Is a SSD over HDD a hard requirement for a monero server?
No. If you are willing to have very slow initial Monero sync times (days or weeks), you can use an HDD. I just donât recommend it.
I was setting this up and got stuck on starting the monero lws. It never starts. Iâm using truenas in docker on my proxmox host. Anyone esle run this way for this setup?
Do you see any logs for the monero-lws container? What specific monero-lws settings are you using?

@inp667 try deleting the Arti app (check remove the iX volumes and also force remove), then do a fresh install. Make sure to update the onion addresses for the Monero apps after since they will change with the reinstall.
Did this and sadly it did not work.
Do you have âEnable ACLâ enabled for the Arti app? That should be unchecked like so:
If that doesnât fix it, you can try making a manual dataset for the Arti app, like you made for the Monero blockchain using the guide. Make sure to assign the same ACL permissions. Then when installing Arti, change the âTypeâ to âHost Pathâ and choose the new Arti dataset folder you created.
The ACL was left alone and unchecked. I started over again and still not working. I will try to create another dataset to see if that works.

I also just checked arti logs and see this:

Iâm confused about monero-lws. I setup edgewallet but Iâm confused about adding accounts to lws, when I tried adding my edgewallet info, it wonât deploy and the logs show âAccount with specified address already exists.â Any clarification would be much appreciated.
I recommend testing with Skylight Wallet (also made by us, MAGIC Grants).
If you canât get anything else to work, try force deleting the LWS app and storage and let it rescan.
For Arti, is your ISP blocking access to Tor?
Ok, thanks! So I should create a wallet first and then add it to lws? I just didnât understand as when I did lws was throwing an error and wouldnât even deploy.
For Arti, I do not believe they are blocking, as Iâve been able to use Tor in the past. However, I do use the browser with a bridge nowadays, not sure if that matters.
