I’m not a sysadmin and don’t fully understand the intricacies of Linux security, but FWIW it might not be as bad as that tweet might lead some to believe. Correct me if I’m wrong but this seems like an issue that’d affect Ubuntu-based distributions as well.
If that’s the case, I don’t see how that really changes the conclusion of this thread because it seems like the only other “just works” distro with a sizable support community forum is Linux Mint which currently has more issues than Ubuntu in regards to security features and release cycle.
Linux security having issues isn’t new but it also doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be used. Security also isn’t as simple as some would like to think. Security from whom is often ignored, which is a fatal mistake.
