How important is threat modeling for privacy? I put that off for the longest time, which has led to a lot of under-protecting or overprotecting myself in various areas that a proper threat model would have saved me from. I don’t feel like it’s talked about enough, so I would really like to hear a little about it from you both if you wouldn’t mind!
I had a teacher who used to say “If you don’t know where you’re going, any road will take you there.” Threat modeling is like that. If you haven’t put in the work to understand what you’re trying to protect yourself from, you’re not likely to be successful.
I am preaching to myself here. Out of the wide, wide world of potential threats, it is a daunting task to narrow the scope and prioritize them appropriately.
