I don’t really know what to think about this. I guess I hope this goes well, so that if and when AI agents become mainstream, we have a private and secure option. At the same time, this seems pretty antithetical to privacy and free will.
I’m surprised no one commented on this post. I found it because I was searching for posts about digital wallets, as I was wondering if there exist any cross-platform wallets that respect privacy. I have never made an NFC payment with my phone, and am curious if it’s worth it from a privacy standpoint.
In regard to the first article posted, I have a lot of respect for Tim Berners-Lee’s work, but I just visited Input’s main page, and it says the following:
Uniquely valuable AI experiences become possible when your customers inform your AI with their data.
That does not sound very privacy conscious to me.
Part of me wishes Cake Pay would launch a digital wallet for FIAT currencies. I just want to be able to add any of my virtual cards and use a wallet that hides as much as possible about me from merchants, but also if possible, from my bank.
