If I don’t like Braves theme options in the settings, does it hurt my privacy by getting one from the web store? Or add to my fingerprint?
Any extension or add on will impact your fingerprint indeed and while it may not necessarily hurt your privacy, it does not help either. I recommend using the options you have instead if it is not a deal breaker.
Firefox themes and certain VPN extensions don’t impact your fingerprint
Interesting, didn’t know that, but I’m not sure that has anything to do with my question. Brave can’t use firefox themes can it?
In that last reply, I was just giving examples to show that some extensions don’t impact your fingerprint. In the case of Brave I’m not sure, but Brave’s threat model is only for naive fingerprinters so fingerprinting shouldn’t be a concern.
For security, all Chromium themes, even official Google ones, unfortunately still require MV2. But I think you’ll be fine as long as you install a theme from a trustworthy source.
