as seen on arch wiki, just follow the for best results and it should be non-suboptimal HDR - ArchWiki
basically kodi and mpv are way better in hdr implementation with to my understanding mpv actually being able to handle hdr10+ metadata but not dynamically than vlc’s hdr implementation
also I wouldn’t say you need to have a config as gpu-next is selected by default
and you can pass target colorspace hint in the command line with mpv —target-colorspace-hint “path/to/hdrvideo” no further config from here
also I would disable interpolation if I were you
