If I want to download music without DRM, is their a better way then downloading from Youtube (with something like Seal ) ?

I really like the idea of Qobuz and 7digital, but streaming has made me borderline unwilling to pay 15 bucks for a watermarked album

There are essentially only two services that allow you to bypass the OS mixer. Utilizing either ASIO or WASAPI is mandatory to achieve a bit-perfect signal to the DAC. Qobuz and Tidal.

As far as I remember some (not all) songs purchased through iTunes are DRM free if you’re ok with spending money.

It’s very easy export music by itunes. It’s sufficient click on show in finder and you has the m4a files that you can reproduce with any device.

Can you give an example of drm locked music on itunes because i always lived under impression that music on itunes store was all drm free

Bandcamp! The music you download from Bandcamp is owned by you and there’s no DRM. Bandcamp is also great to support the musicians you like, as the platform takes a very low fee from every purchase, most of your money goes directly to the artist.

I do not use any app for my music needs and won’t be launching iTunes just for that purpose but as said above yourself, it’s as quick as picking up something popular and right clicking on it to see if there is a DRM. Moreover, even if there is no DRM as of today, I won’t be spending mental capacity…

Oh wow indeed, after some research it looks quite trivial indeed!
Meanwhile, the songs need to be DRM-free to be exported that way. In which case, I am not sure why someone would use iTunes rather than Bandcamp/etc.

Because they make it cheaper? Then, are you even supporting the artist through iTunes?
Otherwise if it’s the same price or lower, rather get the music file directly from the artist (via Bandcamp or their own thing).
