We don’t know why it hasn’t been fixed, but we don’t feel comfortable waiting any longer. Hide My Email users deserve to know that it may be possible for attackers to discover their hidden email addresses,” Tyler Murphy, the co-founder of EasyOptOuts, which discovered and reported the issue to Apple, told 404 Media.

I wonder what is considered your real email address with Apple.
Is it your Apple ID email?
If yes, I’m glad I use an alias for my Apple account. That being said, I don’t think I have ever created more than one or two Hide-My-Email aliases. And my Gmail address is still linked to my Apple account as a secondary account, because I fear that Apple would lock me out if I only used an alias.
At least once, if not twice, after I changed my Apple ID email to an alias, I was not able to log in and had to use my secondary Gmail address to do so and make my alias the default address again. It hasn’t happened in a while, but that’s why I keep my old Gmail as my secondary address.
