Alabama State House passes their own version of the App Store Accountability Act

Unfortunately I can’t find a way to link directly to the bill. Below is their website.

It’s HB 161 and the description reads:

Consumer protection, app store providers and developers required to take certain actions related to age verification and parental consent, Attorney General authorized to bring action for violations as deceptive trade practice, parents authorized to bring civil action

Just sharing in case anyone here lives in Alabama. It’s passed in the State House and its moving on to the State Senate.

Literally only came across this because the NetChoice lobbyist mentioned this in the hearing for the Florida App Store Accountability Act. Thanks for the lead, I guess? lol
