Hey there,
I hope you are all doing well.
I need your advice please!
I am working on a free open source mobile app with a focus on privacy and education where you can manage your expenses and investments and learn the basics of personal finances.
The app use end to end encryption where your password is used to decrypt a personal private key that is necessary to decrypt your data. Meaning that I don’t have access to them and they stay truly private.
With family and friends is easy to build the trust to use the app but I would like to share this tools with others. Both because I want to help people safely move away from needing a local excel file, and both because I want to help improve the knownledge of finance, and this is a common issue in Italy.
So I am trying to understand what can I provide to make people feel that their privacy is safe? Is there anything specific you look for? Is there any certificate you would think is needed to prove it?
Here the source code: GitHub - Rebelpug/piggus-app: **A privacy-first personal finance app** built with React Native and Expo. Track expenses, manage your financial portfolio, and learn about personal finance while keeping your data secure and private.
I’m sharing the GitHub link for transparency, not promotion - the app is free and always will be. I’m genuinely looking for feedback on privacy practices. Premium optional features are only needed to cover third party costs.
I hope I am not doing wrong with this topic, if so please let me know.
Thanks!
Paolo
