Let’s just not use words that have a different meaning? Chatbots are not “aware” they can at best get the search result from an index. Awareness and other terms are uniquely “life-suggesting”, and contrary to what people would like you to believe, Chatbots are not even close to our understanding of awareness.

I’m not sure if it has been mentioned already, but the Brave Browser on desktop allows you to connect to a local Ollama model instead of their online models, and you can use your local model in the sidebar to summarize webpages etc. It’s proved quite useful actually. Perhaps you could add this to the recommendations?

A quick update on the state of this tool. The Team and I have been simplifying the structure of the recommendations, and at the same time be as complete as possible. Local and cloud providers are now in different categories, with the former being prioritized.
The ‘Local AI Chat’ will be published in the next few weeks. In the meantime, a preview is available.

What cloud? It happens on device.
Please note that many of them have horrible privacy policies.

There is also a sketchy VPN thrown in there for some reason. You should absolutely not use the mass-market free AI chat tools.

(For cloud-based AI recommendations, this will likely take longer, because PG Team still need to review it, and they are some privacy concerns that need to be addressed.)
