Theyr’e probably referring to the Bing stuff. Edge does not E2EE your synced browsing history and your bookmarks and if you have a logged in account that’s directly tied to it. That then means your history is tied to your Windows account - all of it.
This is also tied to the Global Device Identifier. I would also not be surprised if this cannot be correlated to any images modified containing the hidden watermarks added by MS Paint/Photos.
Thanks for going into the specifics. Would you avoid doing your banking and government-related stuff with Edge? Would you use Chrome over Edge on the desktop and mobile? To be clear, I’m not advocating the use of general browsing on Chrome or Edge. Just saying that for banking and government-related activities, I figure security would be more important than anything else since I’ve already been KYCed.
Would you trust using Firefox for iOS?
On Windows I’d probably just use Firefox or something for that.
Its more about having a logged in Google Account/MS account and those companies knowing what bank your with etc. With that said Chrome does have the option of using your own passphrase which keeps account sync data E2EE.
I’d just use default Safari there.
