Okay I just spent all day trying to find a simple wireless hard drive on the Western Digital website. I spent so much time talking to their support team and they couldn’t help me…
It’s getting too cumbersome for me to keep disconnecting and then reconnecting USB drives to my computers.
In the past Western Digital sold simple wireless hard drives for home use. However, ALL of these are no longer sold. Setting up a NAS seems like a lot of work while a wireless hard drive would make things easy, simple and secure.
Can anyone recommend a secure wireless hard drive for me to buy?
Is this a safe and secure way to store my data? I don’t mind if it’ll take me extra time or extra money but I’m focused on my data being secure without any chance of there being any kind of back door to the internet.
I thought about this but I’m too scared of the possibility of my data being connected to the internet….
Are there any other options to something that’s open source like the raspberry pi?
I just found something that looks really simple and secure to use but the price is a bit high? I’m surprised I couldn’t find anything else similar to this.
I also don’t know if the synology brand is safe as they use proprietary software:
