I am looking for a set of defense solutions for whistleblowers against advanced persistent threats. The adversary is not government agencies like CIA or the former KGB, but the powerful international tech companies. They are extremely skilled in cybersecurity and consequentially, tracking down any whistleblowers. And, they are in numbers. They are very well funded.
To send this message I have used special browsers and some defense that I am not able to specify at this moment. But I believe if these sets of defense is well placed, not only the tech industry will be cleansed, but also the whole society will benefit from these whistleblowers.
Thank you. I know that my issue is absolutely more dramatic and extreme, but it is surely necessary.
Cash-paid pixel to install GrapheneOS on if you haven’t already gotten one. Read everything on the features and usage guide pages. Also find a good book on opsec.
Why would you use that OS? Using an OS you can’t trust is likely a mistake that can’t be mitigated for your threat model.
This blog has a fair bit I disagree with but it teaches about identity segmentation and the failures section may be helpful for you. You should learn as much as possible. GrapheneOS’s tweets, Privacyguides, privsec.dev, Qubes/Tails/Whonix documentation are all good. Compare everything and search the forum. Update your threat model.
You need to learn a shit ton because you should be an expert before you can expect to not make mistakes when doing actions far below that level. All it takes is one mistake, you have to be flawless all the time.
I recommend taking information from people who you can’t verify as experts with a heavy grain of salt. There are many widespread misconceptions about many things (for example, Tor browser can’t make you look identical to all other Tor users), and lot of people don’t really know what they’re talking about.
Two more ideas to throw on the board are to look for some kind of reputable whistleblower consulting, if such a thing exists, and to look at whether your government has an effective whistleblower/witness protection program, but I’d follow @anon67953901 's advice and read up on everything you can before making any sort of plan.
