I don’t see what is special about it. As far as I know, any “smart” TV can be switched to HDMI input and never see the Internet. $400 won’t get you a good panel; in fact, it’s not even enough to buy a good PC monitor.
I dont understand why people dont just do this. This us what Im doing with my TV. Is there a flaw on our logic?
Do any TVs refuse to work without a setup that requires internet?
There may be, initial setup of smart TVs may require Internet access from varying manufacturers, but at least for now, there is no mandated and/or standardized online identity verification infrastructure to enforce that the “owner” is a legal adult.
