WhatsApp has [announced](https://blog.whatsapp.com/whatsapps-latest-privacy-protection-strict-account-settings) a new setting called Strict Account Settings that increases security against sophisticated threats, similar to Apple's [Lockdown Mode](https://support.apple.com/en-us/105120) or Android's [Advanced Protection](https://support.google.com/android/answer/16339980?hl=en) mode.
