What is the best safeguard if you have to use Google?

Its very likely that Google knows exactly who you are, based on all the information they already have, so it is a battle on losed ground to try to make the account anonymous now.

thanks for your answer, I just wanted to understand how it works. I know they already got me but knowing what they do know helps me move forward and how not to give away my personal information.

When you ask questions here, you are only asking for the opinions of individuals. It is up to the broader community to assure that correct opinions are written on the site. But until then, anything discussed here should be treated as opinion for the average person.

Thanks I figured that out now, but yes obviously a forum is a collection of opinions, that’s why I was asking questions. Over time I can ascertain who seems to be more knowledgeable on the subject based on previous answers and my own research. I appreciate everyone’s time and patience.

Using a VM is overkill, have you tried using Librewolf with Google container, this should prevent cross-tracking by Google

Thanks I am using Librewolf and I’m experimenting with some other browsers but haven’t applied containers yet. Still working on that… like I said in a previous post this is an experiment so I might try a few things out and see how they work for me.
