There is a guide to hidden volumes on this site iirc.

Reliant is targeted for Qubes OS and uses Shufflecake under the hood:

VeraCrypt is my preference because it is cross-platform, has been audited, and probably has more eyes on the project compared to most or all alternatives.

cryptomator. Best OPTION. ONLY android version is Paid.
Wish Someone Could Pay for me.

Cryptomator doesn’t have hidden volumes (yet?) so it can’t be an alternative to VeraCrypt for OP’s use case.

is there anything better?

VC is stable. Other tools are not.

I recommend LUKS as native Linux encryption system. Or Cryptomator

Is Cyptomator unstable?

No but as has been stated, Cryptomator doesn’t have hidden volumes. I don’t know why people keep mentioning it.

Unlike Veracrypt, it’s available for every platform. (I only checked Android and Linux)

Well then Firefox is a better alternative to Cryptomator because it’s available on every platform for free whereas Cryptomator is paid on mobile. Except these are different applications which do different things, so it’d make no sense for me to recommend Firefox as an alternative. OP requires hidden volumes so insisting on Cryptomator is unhelpful and off-topic.

10/15 replies on this thread are related to something off-topic, I don’t know why so many people insist on trying to answer a question they haven’t read? :person_shrugging:

As long as you’re not on Windows…

Firefox is a completely different application, while Cryptomator and Veracryot are both encryption tools

And being paid for one platform, doesn’t make it less cross platform
