# TikTokers are heading to UpScrolled following US takeover

Good to have alternatives I guess but alternatives like Upscrolled like happens so often when you see a rising alternative, fail to address all the other issues with their big tech counterpart (like TikTok) like 1) privacy (worrying privacy policy), 2) open source, 3) ad-based business model, 4) AI-bullshi, 5) enshittification, 6) open cross platform access (vs gated), 7) dark-pattern design, 8) centralization (not always bad sure but they seem to be hosted on 3rd party clouds)

So beside that they don’t have the CCP behind them, their is no benefit?

No tiktok censorship but yeah that’s about it
