VPN is on all the time and I use very strict DNS settings. I only keep it at home as a banking phone. Should I go and buy a new one now, or can I keep using this since I don’t use it for anything else? If you can afford another device, you should get a new one. I traded in my old phone and paid 300€, which I believe was a good arrangement for me. The new phone is more powerful than I need, but at least I do not have to worry about this matter anymore. I did a clean setup using ADB, so I did not have to learn anything new. The attempts originate from a few specific sources that persistently try to contact the manufacturer. While the total number of connections is quite substantial, the proportion that gets blocked is, in my opinion, insufficient. This sounds like the perfect use case of a cheap iPad. Years of support and not that expensive. Plus it could double as a great media consumption device to segregate that activity from your primary phone.
