Session and it's relationship to OXEN, OPTF and more

Session, the messaging service that relies on the OXEN cryptocurrency network, seems to be planning to introduce premium features in the future. Although this is not an official announcement, I came across this information when I was searching for the current price of OXEN to join the network.

In here, they mention “Session Pro”, which will offer “custom emojis and sticker sets, multi-account registration, manual region selection for service node pathways, and verified account status” as well as “Session open group configuration and hosting services, increased attachment file size limits, encrypted account backup storage, and permanent Session username registration”

I’m not certain of my thoughts on this matter. The network’s operation seems strange as one must pay to join, with the individuals in charge being mostly crypto enthusiasts with enough funds to sustain it over a long period of time. My confidence in those individuals is minimal, to put it mildly.

However, I’m interested to hear what you all think about this before I draw any conclusions on my own.

I don’t care too much for Session or their NIH’ed Tor that requires an absurd stake to run a node… but these look like more than reasonable ways to monetize it in an understandable way.
