i own a grapheOS phone and a spyware samsung phone, which I mainly use for payments, eSIM mobile data and calls, sometimes services that really insist on installing their shitty apps
my question is – how can I securely and conveniently share info between those two?
I do not have Signal installed on the samsung phone, because I wouldn’t like google/samsung to try to collect any data/metadata about me. And besides that – Signal can only be installed on one phone I believe (with the exception of Molly – but I would rather not use it for trust purposes)
So up to this point I was using Telegram – very convenient, but absolutely not secure.
At this point if a Telegram employee, or an attacked, gained access to my Telegram notes to self (I don’t believe in them ever deleting those), they would have access to a lot of my passwords that I needed to enter only one time, pictures, documents, maps locations…
The important part of any suggested method is for it to remain convenient. I carry two phones daily and I cannot wait for them to connect or something to share that data (I also use Tailscale/sometimes Mullvad, so p2p data exchange might be less convenient)
too slow. i usually need immediate clipboard-to-clipboard sharing, without first pasting that into a file of sorts, waiting until syncthing finally synchronizes, and navigating/finding that file on another phone..
SimpleX Chat seems like the obvious alternative if you’re used to using messengers for sharing info. I’m not aware of any useful data Samsung or Google could possibly gleam from your SimpleX contact (your GOS device) aside from the obvious which is just the data you’re sharing as well as any associated metadata.
