Secondary Phone streaming - secure ecosystem project

So I’m currently building up a private (secure and anonymous as possible) ecosystem with my tech as a side project. I got my old Pixel 4a running most socials/whatsapp. Got a Pixel 9 running GrapheneOS, and in the process of setting up a home server on debian+secure router setup.

I wondering if it would be possible to somehow stream/remote access my pixel 4a while I’m out.

Reasons, carrying two phones is a pain and I have public facing/banking related stuff on it, so I thought something like this might be a neat solution.

Again, my threat model is “as good as I can get it”, I’m using this more as a learning project that I’m taking seriously rather than actual threats (but in this climate who knows when that can change, as I’m sure you can understand)

Just put the social apps and WhatsApp in a different user on your pixel 9 and ditch the outdated phone all together

Yep. This really is the best option.

Remote access to an old device presumably only for your socials is just an odd and impractical choice.

Though if you want to repurpose your phone, here’s something I found yesterday. It may or may not be useful but something to know about.

I’m running that route, slowly setting up a refined version on my 9 now (in a separate user profile), but quite a few apps aren’t friendly with GOS. Banking can be an issue, trying to avoid bringing my old google account with me as well so its a rough situation. Figuring it out step by step.

Thanks regardless!

I’ll check it out! Repurposing gear is always great in my books
