Coin Cards
After purchasing a gift card, I was transferred to Visa on their site. Using a VPN broke the website, which forced me to use a public‑space Wi‑Fi to maintain anonymity. Once the VPN access was restored, I had to call Visa to activate my card. These were two major intrusions to privacy that invalidate the reason to even use the service.
The purpose of using Monero and this website was to maintain privacy. By forcing a non‑VPN internet connection and requiring a phone number to verify, these cards can be easily tracked.
I asked for help on the Coin Cards support line and had multiple conversations with different representatives, all of whom were unhelpful.
Based on these intrusions and limitations, I strongly encourage privacy guides to remove Coin Cards from their recommendations list.
