# Recommended wallet for stable coins?

I use Cake Wallet for XMR, BTC and LTC, but wonder if anyone can recommend a good software wallet (mobile and/or browser and/or linux desktop) that can carry stablecoins like USDC and EURC. I’m learning a bit about crypto trading and see stablecoins have a useful function there.

I looked but couldn’t find the option to start a new USDC wallet. I know you can do trades within Cake to USDC, but I don’t see an option to store USDC or other stablecoins.

It’s tricky because stablecoins are not their own blockchains, they are typically programs built on top of Ethereum (but could also be on Polygon, Base, Solana, or many other blockchains).

So you need to determine which network you’re trying to receive/use stablecoins on, and then add a wallet for that network. Once you have an Ethereum wallet for example then you can add USDC tokens:

Just make sure you know where you’re getting the USDC from and how. Like on Robinhood for example, if I’m going to send USDC to a wallet I have this choice of networks. If you try to send USDC on Polygon to an Ethereum wallet it could potentially be very bad.

Boy, thanks for sharing and explaining. I didn’t know this.

PG should have a basic guide on how to (in simple ways) use and manage small amounts cryptocurrency you buy to transact with. Would alleviate many concerns someone new to this space wanting to use crypto to buy privacy products may have. Could you please add that to the list if one such exists? I know it may not be inherently private way to transact but there are ways to mitigate the concerns.

EVM’s (Etherium etc) don’t make sense because you can’t attach guns to smart contracts and gun is law….

By that extension Stable coins don’t make sense tbh.
