Ideally I am looking for something cross-platform (web/Android/iOS), but I will settle for separate services if they are good and trustworthy. Although I have never needed a QR code generator, I just realized an extremely helpful use for it, hence now I need one.

I found this one by OpenSourceToolkit which is web based:

> **[QR Code Generator - Create Custom QR Codes | OpenSource Toolkit](https://opensourcetoolkit.com/qr-generator)**
>
> Generate QR codes for text, URLs, WiFi, contacts, and more. Customize colors, size, and error correction. Download as PNG with real-time preview.

**Can I trust it?**

I’m just asking for recommendations from the community because I want to make sure the generator I use is trustworthy, as I will be using it under unique circumstances to share passwords and other types of very sensitive information.

I see multiple apples when I search for “barcode scanner” on F-Droid. Which one is the one you’re recommending?

Found it! Thanks. I look forward to playing with it. **I’m guessing this app is Android only?**

For those who have a web FOSS suggestion, or approve of the one I mentioned, please share.

Jesus Christ! Is this all FOSS? And are you the developer?

I’m impressed!

I use the command qrencode from terminal. It’s FOSS and run on Linux, \*BSD… and on Windows and Mac.

As much as I appreciate this, I forgot to mention, NO CLI. It must be GUI.
CLI is something I very much suck at.

Here’s one that runs completely in your browser: [https://justaqrcode.com/](https://justaqrcode.com/)

You can download the page and load it locally.

And the 2023 announcement post about it: [Gabe Schuyler: "Announcing: https://justaqrcode.com. Tired of "f…" - Infosec Exchange](https://infosec.exchange/@gabe_sky/114558396307371647)
