Knew it was going to be a shitshow when the original author sold his software to an ad company. Well, Niagara Launcher is amazing, and I highly recommend it.

cough cough

Not surprising at the slightest. Unfortunately I’ve kind of given up the idea of using third-party launchers on android unless the OEM has somehow embedded advertisements into the launcher with no way to turn off then I personally see it as additional attack surface. At least for my brain minimal launchers dont do much I do like the idea of a list view UX by default though. Back in the day I used KISS launcher with GrapheneOS and felt like my phone wasnt controlling me but unfortunately its unmaintained so I tend to stick with whats default since Im trusting the OS anyway

Firebase is used in a lot of apps, so unless one is really picky about the apps they use, it’s likely unavoidable. Niagara launcher dev is open about it in his privacy policy. Nova also had firebase as well (according to exodus) , so if you used Nova, I don’t see the reason to bash Niagara for this.

what app is this?

I meant the app showing trackers in Niagara Launcher

Since Aurora Store uses Exodus for that data, you can check them up here: Exodus Privacy (that way you don’t have to install Aurora Store if you’re only interested in checking the trackers of an app)

Just take in mind that since some apps receive updates, the versions submitted to Exodus may not be the latest compared to the latest available of the app. Make sure you compare the version of the app in Exodus and the app you want to analyse.
