TL;DR: Notesnook released an update yesterday (v.3.40) which makes the URLs for your published notes, which they call Monographs, unique. Before, every time you unpublished and republished a note, it would always have the exact same URL which was a privacy and security issue. Now that is no longer the case. Every time you publish and republish the same note, it will always have a unique URL.
I first reported this issue back in December 2024 and I am glad that after almost 2 years they finally addressed it!
As someone who uses aliases 95% of the time when I email people, I am glad I can now use Monographs when I need to send encrypted messages via aliases. I know that encrypted paste bins like Ente Paste and CloakBin exist, but most of them do not have rich text formatting, which is something I sometimes require.

EDIT: Self-destruction feature is NOT a bug
Earlier I mentioned that self-destroying Monographs only work when you enable the setting before publishing your Monograph, NOT after, which is only partially true. But that appears to be deliberate.
Notesnook doesn’t automatically update your Monographs when you make changes to them after you’ve published them. You have to click update in the settings in order for any changes to your notes to be visible in your already published note.
That applies to self-destruction too. This means you can make a Monograph self-destruct AFTER you have published it, but you have to click update in order for it to apply, as it is a change to your original publishing settings.
The new update is kind of huge as it introduced Inbox API too. I just created a cron job in github that creates a daily note template in my account(got the idea from one of the mods in their discord). This is kinda huge for me as it saves me a lot of time in the long run. The ability to pin, favorite and add to notebooks and tags via the inbox api is also great.
I love this app and can’t recommend it enough to my friends and colleagues. The interface is so intuitive and beautiful. Couple it with a good theme (there are a looot of good ones in the app) it just becomes gorgeous. Also, it runs like a charm on my device where Evernote used to slug like a snail.
Sync has also been improving in the past few months. Overall the app is on a great track. I hope it keeps improving like this.
Thanks to @thecodrr for sticking by the original values of the app. I know about the past controversies regarding price changes but to this day, NN remains the best value for buck in the note taking space.
Just for feedback, I would love it if you guys could give more attention to the UI. There are small quirks here and there. Not a big deal but sometimes I notice them. Can’t wait for the day when I just want to open the app and keep writing non stop because it just looks beautiful and gives me peace of mind.
