Hello all

We introduced a [News](https://discuss.privacyguides.net/c/privacy/news/9409) category on the forum to split up discussions on the news and more fundamental privacy discussions. This hopefully also somewhat satisfies some requests from people who asked to [split up political discussions](https://discuss.privacyguides.net/t/proposal-add-political-topics-section-to-pg-discourse-and-code-of-conduct/24105). We think that privacy is inherently political and we believe this to be a better categorization.

Please use the news category from now on for posting news articles :folded_hands:.

We will recategorize all news threads over time.

I like this change. It also makes it very easy to read an almost curated privacy news feed by filtering on the category.

Is the team going to retroactively update, with best effort, previous news stories?

@ph00lt0 Would this be strictly for news articles or should I be posting updates there to? For example would this post be considered “news”

The new plans eliminate the option to send readers free updates. Unfortunately, due to this change, this revision will be our final update of this product. The [final revision](https://inteltechniques.com/books.html) looks to be set for 04.02.2025

Sorry if this should be obvious.

Yes we will.

And I agree I also liked that part of it.

No we actually were thinking of this too, so glad you asked. We think this should only be for strictly news articles as you said. So that it indeed is kinda of a list of curated news articles.
