# New graphene users first day

There is no consensus on Android app stores. Despite [its issues](https://privsec.dev/posts/android/f-droid-security-issues/), F-Droid has [some benefits](https://discuss.privacyguides.net/t/the-anti-f-droid-take-is-uninformed/20439) and a few of the concerns with F-Droid [can be alleviated](https://www.privacyguides.org/en/android/obtaining-apps/#f-droid) by using the F-Droid Basic client and IzzyOnDroid repository. While Accrescent is well-liked, it is only in Alpha and not yet recommended for wide adoption by both [PrivSec](https://privsec.dev/posts/android/f-droid-security-issues/#looking-to-the-future) and [Privacy Guides](https://discuss.privacyguides.net/t/accrescent/12410).

That said, the tier list you provided is what I assume most in the GrapheneOS community would prefer. Just note that [AppVerifier](https://discuss.privacyguides.net/t/appverifier/26680) is recommended in conjunction with Obtanium.

[F-Droid Basic is recommended](https://www.privacyguides.org/en/android/obtaining-apps/) to install apps which are only available on F-Droid.

I’d stick to [Privacy Guides’ recommendations](https://www.privacyguides.org/en/mobile-browsers/) for either Brave or Cromite which both support ad blocking out of the box. They’re considering adding IronFox, though this is a [controversial decision](https://discuss.privacyguides.net/t/ironfox-a-new-mull-fork/23638).
