Thanks, good to know!
yes it is possible on paid accounts for both proton and tuta, even with custom domains if you will
(the last one I was gonna delete but for some inexplicable reason proton insists i have reached a limit in address deletion? I didnt even do anything and all other addresses can be deleted)
The have a throttle where you can only delete a specific amount every year, gotta need to wait a few months now. :3
thats the thing I deleted NOTHING for about a year or 2, i only created this last address part of my testing for the adb project and wanted to try just in case but also confirm the xiaomi account hostility thing (I tried aliases then a little bit nonsensical but still proton.me address, as it was expected, xiaomi is hostile to those, refusing to accept passmails or even proton addresses, after trying and confirming I was gonna delete it but nothing.), I wouldâve deleted it now that i got the answer but proton is saying no
Keep Xiaomi and Proton separate in conversation â the thought of them together makes me lose my mind. ![]()
I need to point out out a very important point because several people mentioned it.
Those extra email addresses that proton & tuta provide under their paid plans are aliases, not actual emails. They are all under the same inbox and the same user login credentials.
If you want to create multiple ACTUAL separated email accounts, you need to buy a separate subscription for EACH.
So lets say a paid subscription costs $5 and you want to create three separate emails, you have to pay $15.
Proton provides something called hide my email aliases through simplelogin which are disposable and randomly generated AND they also provide extra email addresses (just called aliases) on their paid plans which can be deactivated, but are permanent with you specifying their name and cannot be deleted.
Tuta doesnt provide hide my email aliases, but they provide extra email addresses (aliases) on their paid plan.
But for what youâre asking for, you donât need to create multiple Proton accounts. You can get their Plus plan and create aliases.
Edit: You should contact Proton to get your answer, but even if they âlieâ to push you towards a subscription plan, we would encourage that anyway.
If you insist still ask them
If they say no then itâs a no, if they say yes, itâs a yes, we cannot dictate without a formal response
If you still insist not to contact them on this matter for whatever reason, then weâll get them as backup units here @Proton_Team
I already started the process of contacting them
Theyâre actual emails.
Question do you need one personal and one business?
If thatâs the case proton offers a business plan, and you can manage both separately that way
This, theyâre, theyâre not aliases, theyâre not to be confused with say example.example@passmail.net emails
According to Proton, theyâre also known as aliases, but they call it additional addresses for simplicity:
But I donât have a Plus subscription myself so I canât say for sure.
They are definitely real. I have all of them in use, and then I also have many aliases.
If you look at their pricing page where they list features you get with each option, youâll see what we mean.
Yes, I went to their pricing plan and when I searched âProton Plus create multiple e-mailsâ, it led me to the page I linked.
Thatâs not it. This is the page I meant:
Scroll down to see all you can get. Aliases are different to additional email address Proton provides that are @proton.me or @pm.me plus custom domains.
Yes, I went there initially, but because I donât have a subscription myself, I did a search for creating multiple e-mails and got the page I linked. I could see it being confusing for the OP, but it also doesnât change anything in regards to the OPâs request.
I didnt say they were fake. They are real but they are to be treated more like an alias and less like a separate account.
Like i said , they are under the same inbox and they require only one login credential
I donât think I can explain it any better. Sorry.
Not sure what or how you mean this but the page I linked to is a public pricing page. You donât need a subscription to access it.
