# Microsoft block the use of tutanota and protonmail for MS account

Hi.

Were you aware of that ? I help for free a older women with a windows 10 laptop.

The windows installation was done with a local account, so I wanted to extend the windows updates period (up to october 2027) so I enroll her laptop with a online account.

I try to use a tutanota email, and surprise the account was locked instanly, I search and found that Tuta had in the past solved this:

The situation is now backed ! I have also read that protomail is blocked too.

PS: I know about windows vs linux or BSD, It was not my computer and I was helping a old woman for free. Her computer is not upgradable to windows 11, and her skills are very low…
