# MEGASync: is it truthworthy?

Two things

I’ve heard there were security issues with their servers, but never found any specifics. Is it true?

Now, I’ve reinstalled the Android app, and I got the ““usual”” cookie popup…  
\>Create profiles for personalized advertising […] 104 vendors.  
\>Match and combine data from other data sources.  
\>Link different devices.  
\>Identify based on information transmitted automatically.

So does this BS mean, that even tho my files are E2EE, but whenever I use their app, my persnoal files are used to personalize ads for me? \>w\<

The fact that an encrypted cloud storage solution has these options and whatnot at all is enough to discount the app/service in full. I stay away from it and encourage others to as well.
