Hi everyone,

I’m currently using Strongbox for password management and considering switching to KeePassXC after reading
[this topic](https://discuss.privacyguides.net/t/remove-strongbox/19613)

One feature I find very useful in Strongbox is the ability to use a keyfile in conjunction with a password to open my database.

Can anyone confirm if KeePassXC has a similar keyfile function? If so, how can I set it up?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Yes, check [KeePassXC: User Guide](https://keepassxc.org/docs/KeePassXC_UserGuide) and search for keyword “key file”.

I am using KeePassXC in Windows and there is a _“I have a keyfile”_ button next to the password box, and you can use KeePassXC to replace your 2FA authenticator app too, it is not very user friendly to set up but I finally managed to make it work, the advantage is that you don´t need any 2FA cloud account anywhere and it works in your desktop computer without needing a smartphone.

For password auto filling there is a browser extension in the Chrome store and you must connect it to the database.
