Well, it’s most personal preference to be able to search for files and documents immediately after you download. This does not work always as it seems like indexing is always needed. Spotlight also doesn’t pick up on newly installed apps until after indexing every couple of days or so or whenever it auto indexes.
Not sure if my indexing is broken because it does work, just not right away. I’ll give your idea a try. Thanks!
