Is it possible to have multiple credit cards from different countries on Apple Pay?

TL;DR: My friend is Greek but lives in Australia, and her Apple ID is set to the Australian app store. Can she add both her Greek credit card (€) and Australian card ($AUD) to Apple Pay?

I am helping a friend set up their new iPhone. They have never used Apple Pay before and are considering it. It is my understanding that, conversely to Google Wallet, Apple Pay is private in that Apple cannot see the purchases that you made with them. Hence, I am thinking it’s a good idea to use it.

However, my friend wants to add 2 credit cards from 2 different countries to her Apple Pay account. Is that possible?

In my quick search results, they say that as long as the billing address of the credit cards matches the one for the Apple ID, it should work. Although my friend’s cards have two different billing addresses, this requirement doesn’t make sense to me.

I have made purchases from online stores in different countries, and every time I was asked for my billing address, I always gave the address of where my items were being delivered. This means that if I lived in Australia and bought something from Amazon Germany with my Australian credit card to be delivered in Germany to my friend’s house, I would say my billing address is my friend’s house. I have never had any issues.

Does anyone here have any experience with adding credit cards from different countries on Apple Pay? Did the credit cards have different billing addresses?

Yes. I’ve done it before. US Apple account with US & Canada cards and vice versa too.

It is more secure than private I would say, because Apple Pay creates another set of card credentials to transact. Apple still knows all your real info.

Yes

It works. Once you add your first one, you can always keep adding more and Apple is not going to verify each time for each card. Also best to add cards to Apple Pay from within the bank app itself. Most banks if not all should have an option and a direct link to add card to Apple Pay/Wallet.

I’m here conflating Apple Pay with Apple Wallet if the goal is the make payments and transact using Apple Pay. You always need to have a card connected to your Apple Account of the country your account belongs in. Then you can add any card to your Wallet app.

I’m assuming you are also conflating the two here.

By real info do you mean where you shop? How much you spend? And how frequently?
If yes, what’s the difference with Google Wallet?

Thanks. I will tell my friend.

Wait. Please remind me what the difference is between the two?

But aren’t your Apple ID account and Apple Pay account two separate things?
What if after your Australian credit card expires, you decide to exclusively use Australian gift cards for purchases on the Australian app store? Will the Greek card stop working on Apple Pay even if you’re not using it for the app store?

That is my understanding, yes.

I don’t know. I don’t use that.

Apple Pay is what payment via your iPhone is called and Apple Wallet is the app you use to do it.

Not quite. I have a Canada Apple ID/Account but I can add any bank’s card from any country that supports Apple Pay either directly or through the banking apps.

You’re confusing yourself with Apple Account, Apple Pay, and Apple Wallet. There are differences here.
