How to bypass Signal's censorship?

Some of my friends in Egypt tried to switch to Signal and after signing up they didn’t get any verification code and only got an error that there is a problem in the connection and that thing happened with many people I knew there, So what I am looking for right now is a proxy to bypass that censorship.

Could you suggest me some trustworthy proxies?

update: my friends tried using Windscribe in IKEv2 and Stealth protocol but they got the same message

.

Normally I’d use a VPN + SMS Pool number to set it up and use Signal.

They are just normal people who don’t need VPN and will find it so complex, So the proxy link would be perfect for them

Then someone more tech savvy needs to run one for them (and maintain it) which too won’t be free. I understand a simple proxy link would be ideal but what I suggested is the next best option if they want to do it themselves.

Signal has built on Proxies to bypass bans from ISP, however it looks like that the ISP it’s blocking the SMS instead?
If so only another phone number from not this country (likely VoIP) will help.

But it’s also Egypt. Signal is blocked in these middle east countries.

I am an expat in the region. I’d know.

But it’s also Egypt

Egypt can’t block Signal. The ISP can block Signal and Egypt can force the ISP to block Signal.
So my statement is still valid.

Signal is blocked in these middle east countries.

To be honest I’m a bit suprised here.
I always thought Egypt would be democratic country with basic human rights and some sort of stable politic.

There is no difference in

Do you not see it?

No.

ivpn with VLESS/Mullvad with QUIC or even LWO. Ask for an IP override also.

Egypt blocks Wireguard, OpenVPN, AmneziaWG (partially). Shadowsocks is being tested.

Not using a VPN will drive unwanted attention towards them when using Signal.

Signal proxies are EOL, don’t fulfill their promise and are easily detectable in real life and thus are being blocked.

Expert opinion

Try signing up with a US VPN exit node.

Try selecting Egypt a couple of times. If a code doesn’t get delivered - fill the input with 000000. Don’t request the code right after passing the captcha as anti fraud system will trigger.

OK these are great options but the only problem is IVPN and Mullvad are paid options and the economy in that country is not so well and paying for international service isn’t available.

Egyptians travel for a banking account to the allied countries. Egyptians buy crypto in Bybit p2p, Telegram wallet p2p and even binance i think. There are crypto debit cards that you can top up with USDT/USDC and it will convert your balance to Mastercard’s USD. If the “economy is so bad”, they have an option of using free ProtonVPN tiers or cloudflare WARP with AmneziaWG settings. They typically rent a cheap VPSs and configure a sing-box/xray panel on it. Or they simply share a subscription.

I’m having doubts about this conversation and their hesitance to do something as Egyptians i know of absolutely do know how to bypass censorship. They have a ton of domestic services with sing-box configs, they do buy crypto and they won’t complain about the fact freedom costs money.

Use ProtonVPN in stealth mode. It should let you complete Signal activation

If you can’t find it in playstore, get the apk from the github page

I found these links of Unredacted Organization, So should I use them?

I think you know some really rich Egyptians out there cause about 85% of Egyptians don’t have money to buy crypto and maybe the percentage are more.

I have never heard anything negative about Unredacted. They provide valuable services if you ask me.

I did not know they had this but seeing that they also support XMPP and other things, I would surely use them if I really needed to.

It’s ideally best to run one yourself or one from a trusted source. Unredacted feels trusted but I also don’t know too much about them to claim they are the absolute best either.

This is just my opinion. I persoanlly have no reason to not trust them as I also use their XMPP service.

No, they use Cloudflare..

What is complicated about installing a VPN?
