# Has anyone tried Matrix for live location sharing?

Specifically the Element X app allows you share your live location. I literally just stumbled across this in the app, I can’t believe I had no idea about this.

Am I missing something here? I’ve spent ages trying to find something like this before… why don’t people recommend it?!

Haven’t tried this, but I occasionally use Element X for some discussion forums so would be interested to check it out. For location sharing there is also the P2P app WhereFam. I have managed to convince some friends to use it as an alternative to Find My Freinds as I am uncomfortable with the idea of constantly uploading my location to Apple servers :I
