If I understood correctly they would be allowed on the Play Store. Which is also huge. But Google can still appeal the decision up to the Supreme Court. But I think that a final decision will be releaed relatively soon.

I’m just curious on whether F-Droid would even want to be on the App Store!

If I understood correctly, this changes nothing. APM blocks downloads outside of the Play Store so they would need to change APM to make it allow downloading apps on third party app stores.

Samsung was sued by Epic Games because its equivalent of APM prevented other app stores from being installed. I’m hoping that this judgement can also apply that to the broader Android ecosystem.
