We鈥檝e just added the ability to export as MBOX format too! 
It鈥檚 similar to EML export; it鈥檚 all done using streams and zipped using AES 256 encryption, and at no point is anything written to disk.
There is also now a dedicated section in the FAQ for exporting with some additional open-source resources for converting/viewing exported files too.
