It’s not obscure. Just go to any search engine, like search.brave.com and the search engine bar will have an icon to add it.

Right clicking does not work on all software… with Sonoma, it does not, on a newer Mac
What you describe only occurs after you have input those search engines …

I actually learned the second method from a Mojeek employee. Those guys are pretty cluey.
Brave, Mullvad Browser(MB) + VPN is a solid combination. There is no need for user.js with MB.
Sometimes I use Arkenfox + Firefox Multi-Account Containers extension to group tabs though it is not its use case.
