Latest F-Droid 1.17 has [targetSdk](https://gitlab.com/fdroid/fdroidclient/-/blob/master/app/build.gradle?ref_type=heads#L37) at 28 and F-Droid Basic has [targetSdk](https://gitlab.com/fdroid/fdroidclient/-/blob/master/app/build.gradle?ref_type=heads#L85) 33

Other clients should NOT be recommended due to lacking mirror support for downloads, incremental index database downloads, or any metadata localization support.

Use of other clients without mirror support effectively ddos’es [f-droid.org](http://f-droid.org) and it is negligent to recommend them.  
[f-droid.org](http://f-droid.org) pushed out nearly 186TB in June alone.
